The abandoned CNE railroad bed runs through Norfolk starting west, from the North Canaan town line, running nearly 9 miles southeast, through the town center, to the Winchester border. Much of the existing bed is accessible, however, significant improvements are required to make it accessible for all. Our focus is to provide a 10’ wide handicapped accessible trail which will
take advantage of the gently sloping gradients, allowing everyone the opportunity to enjoy the unspoiled beauty Norfolk is known for.
Our main objective as a committee is to promote and cultivate our mission through community support, donations and a network of volunteers; helping to develop this great opportunity into a multiple use, handicapped accessible trail for all.
